closing browser window

how can i get the event when the user hardly closes the browser window?

in my app,  i got an application scoped bean for checking logged in users.

but i don't get it, when users closes browser window.

Maybe you can do this in javascript. You cannot detect closing of browser window in Seam.

Hi Sascha,

You could this by using javascript which calls a remote Seam-method otr you could do some real nice hacking and create a keep-alive ajax-push (a4j:push) , which must be answered within a specific time-period.

The server needs to have a timer which expires when no ping is received from the browser. It's not 100% save, but you will have a really nice indication that your windows was closed.
