Exception sending event to SeamListener

Hi All,

I am new to Seam, and looking to use it on a new project.  The problem I am having, is the message below.

 Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.jboss.seam.servlet.SeamListener
java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not create Component: org.jboss.seam.international.statusMessages

After looking around the web for similar messages, it looked like I needed to update the core POM to use an older version of Hibernate.  This doesn't seem like the right solution, but even when trying this, I'm not able to work past this message.

Any hints or tips?

The Seam setup examples work fine on a Windows XP box.  However, my linux environment (SuSE 11.1) still brings up the same error when starting up Seam examples.

After narrowing this down, I am suspecting a hibernate library conflict.
