    Redesign of this forum

    asookazian

Can we get a vote in the Seam community to re-design and re-implement the Seam and Weld forums?  There are already many examples in the Seam 2.x distro and many more coming in Seam 3, so does this forum need to be a Seam app?

The lack of edit functionality is always complained about here.  Performance is poor due to the wiki parser: http://seamframework.org/Documentation/TuningTheSeamWebsite

Also, let's view some websites that we really like and talk about why.

      e.g. http://www.acurazine.com

I am able to edit my posts, to subscribe to each thread manually, one-by-one and determine if I want instant email notification, etc.  I can also rate the thread itself.

The other forums I've found very good are the new JBoss forums: http://community.jboss.org/threads (although the search functionality is missing).

The Java Sun forums are great: http://forums.sun.com/index.jspa

How many other forums have you seen where you can't edit your own posts???  Well, apparently the JBoss forums: http://community.jboss.org/thread/148989?tstart=0  can't edit my posts there either!

Let's also discuss what you like about these forums.  the wiki text editor is pretty neat once you learn how to use all the edits it features...

Even the serverside is having a redesign: http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=59613

Perhaps there can be a redesign for sfwk.org when JBoss 6 is final???
