JQuery doesn't work with richface's textbox

Any Suggestion will be appreciated

Hey I am trying to link my seam application with a jQuery JavaScript file when i add a line in the <Head></Head> tag of my xhtml file , the JSF Calender stop to functioning and got disable.

line to be added is :

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://jqueryjs.googlecode.com/files/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>

why it is happening can anyone share this idea with me.

Like most problems they can easily be resolved by reading the documentation associated with what you are trying to do.

Richfaces already has jQuery included so you could just not bother loading the jquery javascript file. Richfaces loads jQuery under the variable name jQuery so you can access jQuery functions by simply typing jQuery('id') or whatever you want to do.

However, if you want the new version of jQuery then take then you need to read the doco on how to load jQuery without interfering with other javascript libs.

What Tim said, in addition if you don't want to use richfaces inbuilt jQuery, you can read this blog post on how you can install and use external jQuery.
