Does JBoss require the JDK at runtime?

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum.  I have a question about JBoss at runtime.  Does JBoss require the Java JDK at runtime?  I'm using JBoss 4.2.1.

I was told that JBoss requires the JDK at runtime.  But the JDK is a development kit.  It seems like the JRE should be enough.

It was required (way back) for JSP compilation from what I remember. Starting 4.2.3 (I think) just JRE should be enough.

Thanks for the reply.  It sure sounds like a flaw to require a JDK at runtime.
