1. Re: AS7.1 Configurable username and password for MDB
jbertram Feb 17, 2012 11:41 AM (in response to ned233)To be clear, you tried using ejb-jar.xml with all your activation configuration properties (instead of annotations) with system properties specified for the userName and password and it didn't work? Were there any exceptions thrown by the server?

Actually we don't support system property replacements in AS7 for these descriptors. There's atleast one JIRA as a feature request for this https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-3195 (although right now it's marked only for persistence.xml).

dstockdreher May 23, 2012 1:11 PM (in response to jbertram)Great this is fixed.
Is there an example of how this now works? So once it's released it is easy to make the switch to the externalized values?

6. Re: AS7.1 Configurable username and password for MDB
jbertram May 23, 2012 2:19 PM (in response to dstockdreher)If it's like other system property substitution in AS7 (which I assume it is) then you just put the activation configuration properties in your ejb-jar.xml just like you always would but use the ${mySystemProperty} syntax in the "value" of the appropriate properties.
