1. Re: jndi connect on jboss 7.1.0.beta
jaikiran Nov 25, 2011 5:08 AM (in response to venkman)Plain JNDI access to the server from a remote client isn't available in AS7. However, EJBs can be accessed from a remote client via JNDI by using the ejb: namespace. But that doesn't use any of the JNP or 1099 port for communication. For more details on remote EJB invocations via JNDI, see this https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/AS71/EJB+invocations+from+a+remote+client+using+JNDI

venkman Nov 25, 2011 5:31 AM (in response to jaikiran)I thought, that the "non-availability" only concern to JBoss 7.0.x and will be supported in the 7.1.x.
Can anyone make a reliable statement?

5. Re: jndi connect on jboss 7.1.0.beta
wblackburn4 Mar 1, 2012 2:12 PM (in response to venkman)Is there any authoritative word on whether the naming subsystem in AS7 will allow remote JNDI lookups? I was trying to figure out why my standalone HornetQ applications all fail when I run HornetQ via AS7, I like the managabvility that AS7 brings to the tables, but I still have to support remote JMS clients. It now appears that AS7 does not open 1099 and does not allow remote lookups. I have found the various commentary on remote EJB invocation, but I want to look up JMS connection-factories and queues. Is this not possible in AS7 from outside the server? Should I stick with standalone HornetQ?
