What is the best strategy to add PDF/report to SEAM 3.1

I have need for rather small, at least initially, pdf creation. I see report module with jasper and pentaho support. I had good experience few years back with BIRT. Someone suggested that BIRT support can be added. Also, earlier versions of SEAM had iText module.

I am looking for something rather light-weight. I don’t have any need for graphs, at least not now.

Can anyone push me in the right direction.

You can add BIRT support, it won't be too bad. Just look at source code on Github of report module.

If you want something out of the box yo can go with Jasper. See examples and tests within report module.

Seam 3 reports only bridge Seam 3 and reporting tools...it is not the repalcement of seam2 report.

If you are familiar with BIRT, use it directly. or use iText.
