scrollableDataTable/extendedDataTable lose values in inputTe

Dear RichFaces experts,

it would be very kind if you could comment the following problem scenario:

- scrollableDataTable with inputText element embedded as children
- First edit the value in the embedded inputText
- Then change filter or sorting of the scrollableDataTable
- Edited value in the embedded inputText is lost and overridden with the original value from the model

The cause of the problem is that the lifecycle after changing filter/sorting is:
RESTORE_VIEW, APPLY_REQUEST_VALUES, RENDER_RESPONSE

UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES is missing when using scrollableDataTable. With extendedDataTable, the problem is the same.

But if I use DataTable instead of scrollableDataTable, the problem disappears, because UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES is performed for DataTable.

thank you for opening the bug in JIRA. I use RichFaces 3.2.2 GA in JBoss 4.2.2 GA with Sun RI. I can't add this in JIRA because I have no account.

Did you reproduce the problem?

Any chance this bug can be fixed or there is a workaround?

Is RF 3 stull supported?

We can only use RF 3 and this is the only spreadsheet-like component there.

If scrillableDataTable only intended to be used in the view mode, without inputText in it, it shouldbe stated in documentation.

One possible solution is to disbale sorting in the table and use commandLink in column headers to sort table externally, but I think this is silly.
