    HornetQ in JBoss-AS-5.1

    deepakdewangan

      Guys,
If I simply want to use HornetQ then what is the use case of using HornetQ inside JBoss-AS.

Here is what I am looking for::

I want to use HornetQ as JMS Server but want management capabilities of JON:: means start/stop HornetQ, peek into destinations etc.

Can I get the above functionality in standalone/cluster HornetQ servers without using JBoss-AS ?
What exactly am I getting by using HorneQ in JBoss-AS ?

      Thanks

      Deepak

Yes. If you just want a standalone messaging server HornetQ should do all the above

Mainly tight integration with MDBs, EJBs, that kind of thing, and the convenience of not having to manage two different servers.

If you're not so interested in the JEE stuff then the standalone server sounds like it will suit you fine.

            Thanks

I am not interested in J2EE stuff inside my  messaging engine, just curious about the tools available out /or with HornetQ to peek in the HornetQ

Last thing I want is: A good messaging engine with no ability/tools to see what's happening inside.

I have opened up another  thread about this.
