Crash Recovery Mode in Jboss AS version 6 or 7 (watch dog)

I used to work in the passed year with different AS also and it had a featcher of crash recovery mode.

Does Jboss supports this?

To be more specific: is there a crash recovery mode in case jboss process fails.

With JBoss AS7 you can start a domain mode where instances can be administered accross different physical machines.

This mode includes a controller which will restart instances that are crashed.

According to the JBOSS AS 7 Administration Guide:

"It's important to understand that the choice between a managed domain and standalone servers is all about how your servers are managed, not

what capabilities they have to service end user requests."

Can you please advise how this "watch dog" can be configured also in standaloan mode with one managed server?

If you will have such "watch dog" you need to start in domain mode, there is no possibility for standalone mode. Only in domain mode you will have a controller (JVM process) that control the server instances.

So you might configure only one server in your case.
