1. Re: can we use guvnor and jbpm console in switchyard bpm?
kcbabo Jun 19, 2012 10:38 AM (in response to shen_haisheng)1 of 1 people found this helpfulDavid can provide the details, but you should be able to load knowledge packages from Guvnor in the current release. BPM console integration is something we've played with in the past with mixed results, but I think everything is lined up now for us to get this working next release (0.6).

2. Re: can we use guvnor and jbpm console in switchyard bpm?
dward Jun 19, 2012 11:27 AM (in response to kcbabo)Yup. To load resources from Guvnor, you can either:
- Specify Guvnor URLs directly as <resource>s for the rules or bpm component, or
- Specify a ChangeSet <resource> which itself has URLs to Guvnor. This is required if you need to specify BASIC Authentication details.
Also, set agent="true" on the rules or bpm component so that a KnowledgeAgent is used to periodically check for resource updates. [1]
[1] Resource change scanning is working in 0.5.0-SNAPSHOT only since the fix of this bug: SWITCHYARD-858.

3. Re: can we use guvnor and jbpm console in switchyard bpm?
rcernich Jun 19, 2012 11:41 AM (in response to dward)Hey David,
The new tooling only allows the user to select project resources. Based on what you are saying, this should be exapnded to allow the selection of Guvnor resources (at least for rules and bpm).
Sorry for hijacking the thread.
Best,
Rob

rcernich Jun 19, 2012 11:53 AM (in response to dward)Hey David,
Thanks for the info. Do you think it would be useful to have tooling that supports retrieving URLs from Guvnor (in addition to a plain old text field that allows you to type in whatever you want)?
Best,
Rob

6. Re: can we use guvnor and jbpm console in switchyard bpm?
dward Jun 19, 2012 11:58 AM (in response to rcernich)I don't personally know if there's a REST service or anything in Guvnor that gives you a list of available knowledge packages. Without something like that, I don't know what you can do other than verify that "yup, that's a valid URL".

7. Re: can we use guvnor and jbpm console in switchyard bpm?
rcernich Jun 19, 2012 12:06 PM (in response to dward)I think there is some functionality available. There is a Guvnor plugin for Eclipse that allows you to browse repositories. From that, we should be able to add drag/drop or some sort of selection dialog based on the repository view. We have something like this for creating artifact references (it's wasting away on one of my working branches).
That said, I'll just keep this in mind as we move the tooling forward.

9. Re: can we use guvnor and jbpm console in switchyard bpm?
jeffdelong Jun 19, 2012 12:09 PM (in response to dward)The integration with the Eclipse environment to Guvnor is via Web Dav. In order to put assets into Guvnor from eclipse, users create a Guvnor Repository in the Eclipse environment. The Guvnor Repository view does show the list of packages in Guvnor. It also contains the URL for the Guvnor Repository. What the user has to specify in the switchyard project is the ChangeSet.xml file that points to the Guvnor repository and package. Today this is a manual process that involves finding an example of the ChangeSet.ml, editing it to include the proper URL, and adding the authentication information to it. Anything tooling could do to ease this process would be useful.

kcbabo Jul 6, 2012 9:46 AM (in response to shen_haisheng)This sounds like a question for the Guvnor team. IINM, there is some level of configuration required to get the processes to show up in Guvnor (an included packages list or something like that).

jeffdelong Jul 6, 2012 9:51 AM (in response to kcbabo)This is a Web Designer issue that was recently fixed. I just tested this with
and the latest designer-2.2-jboss7 from http://people.redhat.com/tsurdilo/designer/master.
And it now works.
