1. Re: Jandex indices for 3rd party JARs
ctomc Jul 3, 2012 5:06 AM (in response to pmm)Hi,
you can do that without any "big" problems
you can use
- ant task
- command line java -jar jandex.jar --help
all of those will enable to add jandex to any 3rd party jars you have

2. Re: Jandex indices for 3rd party JARs
pmm Jul 3, 2012 10:13 AM (in response to ctomc)I don't really like to modify 3rd party JARs. It destroys checksums and in the worst case the JARs are signed. Also Maven doesn't make this easy, I would have to run between the prepare-package and package phase. Ok, you could argue this is Mavens fault

3. Re: Jandex indices for 3rd party JARs
ctomc Jul 3, 2012 10:45 AM (in response to pmm)hi,
you do not need to modify jars, you can have index in seprate jar, as long it is in same module.
for example take a look how org.jboss.resteasy.resteasy-jaxrs is done.
it has jandex index jars in same module.

santos.sandro Oct 4, 2012 9:04 AM (in response to pmm)Why must I need an index to my jars ?
Isn't enough manifest and deployment descriptors ?

You don't have to. But it speeds up deployment/scanning for classes.
