Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at org.jboss.ejb3.security.helpers.EJBContextHelper.getCallerPrincipal(EJBContextHelper.java:99) at org.jboss.ejb3.EJBContextImpl.getCallerPrincipal(EJBContextImpl.java:136) at org.jboss.wsf.stack.jbws.WebServiceContextEJB.getUserPrincipal(WebServiceContextEJB.java:45) at org.test.ws.Service1Impl .work(MyWsImpl.java:54)
But as described in EJB3 documentation wsCtx.getUserPrincipal() must return "anonymous" principal in this case. -

Try using@WebServiceContext private WebServiceContext wsCtx;
