The xhtml page with the a4j:commandLink was inside of a <ui:include src="#{viewController.contentPage}"/> and that value changes while processing the myCommand action. This somehow causes the data to not get rendered a 3rd time after command completion and the last rendered data (null) gets used instead.
This seems like a bug to me?
