2. Re: Issues with JBoss 7.1.1.Final
aanshu_2302 Jul 19, 2012 1:37 AM (in response to jaikiran)I have fixed the errors for now. The issue I came across was, the development was done using JDK 7 and when I impoorted the project (using JDK 6) , the EJB were not deployed as there were version errors.
I think that this has to do difference in the Bytecode generation in JDK 7 and JDK 6.
Also, I believe this is more of a JDK error than a Jboss issue.
I would love to know if anyone has faced this issue or something similar? Anybody using JDK 7 in production systems yet with Jboss 7?
Thanks,
Anshu

sfcoy Jul 19, 2012 2:33 AM (in response to aanshu_2302)You can't compile with Java 7 and then run on Java 6 unless you explicitly configure your build tool to generate Java 6 compatible byte code.

4. Re: Issues with JBoss 7.1.1.Final
aanshu_2302 Jul 19, 2012 2:42 AM (in response to sfcoy)Yes. I thought so that is why I used changed JDK 6 to JDK 7 in Eclipse.
How can we support bytecode for JDK 5/6/7 simultaneously?

5. Re: Issues with JBoss 7.1.1.Final
sfcoy Jul 19, 2012 2:48 AM (in response to aanshu_2302)Java bytecode is forward compatible. Therefore, if you compile for JDK5 then it will run fine on 6 and 7.
Personally, I would not bother with Java5 unless it was imperative.

6. Re: Issues with JBoss 7.1.1.Final
aanshu_2302 Jul 19, 2012 2:53 AM (in response to sfcoy)Yes i agree... Java 5 does not worry me. I am worried about JDK 6. How can we make sure that even if we develop using JDK 7, we run the code even on JDK 6 or 7 ?
Any other issues you have faced earlier on this or that you perceive? I think no browser supports jre 7 yet? WIll that pose any problems?

7. Re: Issues with JBoss 7.1.1.Final
sfcoy Jul 19, 2012 3:18 AM (in response to aanshu_2302)You need to check out the -source and -target options for the java compiler (aka javac).
