Multiple live-backup-groups in the same cluster

Hi All

I want to have 3 live servers in a cluster. Each live server has its own backup server. Live and backup servers have to have a cluster connection to announce their status. It means all 6 servers has to be in the same cluster. Right?

The question is how do the backup servers recognize which live servers they belong to? For example, when the live server A crashes, how the backup server A’ does it recognize and starts?

All servers are standalone (2.2.14).
