1. Re: JBoss 7 not cleaning up VFS leading to huge directory
nickarls Aug 23, 2012 5:30 AM (in response to pathduck)I noticed my dev AS 7.1.1 takes around 2.8G nowadays. Still on 7.1.2? I though there was some improvement done in that area. You might want to try to find if there is already a JIRA for this, I think I've seen it.

pathduck Aug 23, 2012 5:47 AM (in response to nickarls)Thans Nicklas - the only reference I was able to find was:
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-1805
It seems to be related to empty directories staying but the content being cleaned up. We are having a lot of ~50MB directories per appserver restart.

4. Re: JBoss 7 not cleaning up VFS leading to huge directory
pathduck Aug 23, 2012 6:37 AM (in response to nickarls)Well, seems the directories issue is still around at least ...
Jboss actually cleans up the directory content itself when terminating controlled (i.e. SIGTERM) but not when killed (obviously). It seems we have had quite a few terminated processes while testing.
But it would be good to have a way of JBoss controlling the size of these itself, and possibly deleting old directories that are no longer in use?
