Tell us about... Your installation scenario

      Hi everyone,

We are in the process of setting up some automated tests to validate installation scenarios, in order to ensure the future versions of JBoss Tools won't have problem when installing into your Eclipse.

We already have a few scenarios of installation, but I'm curious about which ones you actually use. So please share here how you installed JBoss Tools, so we can make an automated test from it.

Here is what a scenario would look like:

      1. I downloaded Eclipse Modeling Package, version 4.2
      2. I installed WTP from http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/repository/indigo/
      3. I installed JBoss Tools from MarketPlace
      4. I clicked "Check for Updates"

We are interested in real cases, that you use and tried to use, and in cases that work, and those which don't.

Thanks in advance for your contribution!

I used to install JBoss Tools into Eclipse SDK and installation would not work because of missing dependencies. Even if installation was fine some JBT features were missing or not working at all (that I guess something what is not for this topic).

We have downloaded the Eclipse JEE distributions and JBossTools site archives (and a number of other plugins in standalone or site-form).

When the developer starts our eclipse launcher, it'll unpack the relevant eclipse and run the P2 installer to add the configured plugins.

In the case of JBoss Tools, we only install a subset of the features: org.jboss.ide.eclipse.as.feature, org.jboss.tools.cdi.feature, org.jboss.tools.jsf.feature, org.jboss.tools.ws.feature, org.hibernate.eclipse.feature
