1. Re: Excel StyleClass and Style Evaluated Just Once (for First Row)
nickarls Jul 25, 2009 10:04 PM (in response to sgurevich)There could be an attribute for disabling of cacheing (or just checking if its EL or not) but there would have to be a collection of used styles to reuse since there can only be 256 styles in a workbook. The equals() on the style would be largeish. Performance was one concideration for the current design but the hard limit on number of styles was another

sgurevich Jul 27, 2009 5:48 PM (in response to sgurevich)I'll throw the idea of having some way to reevaluate styles on subsequent rows up on JIRA as a change request. You guys can evaluate whether it makes sense from your end. I'm sure that, in my case, I'll have to look at implementing speadsheet building myself under these circumstances. If this change request were to go through, then I might be able to put off reimplementation by adding text through conditional statements in EL form to
highlighted
data. Ugly, but it would get the job done until the pretty styles can be added.Fortunately, in my case, there are only a handful of styles, but they'll vary greatly across rows. ;-) Thanks for the quick response and the knowledge sharing about the limit on styles. I was not aware.

lavanyak Jul 21, 2010 5:58 AM (in response to sgurevich)Hi,
I am having similar issue, my excel StyleClass and Style are evaluated just once i.e. for First Row.
Is there any workaround for that.
Thanks.

lascaux Jul 22, 2010 11:54 AM (in response to sgurevich)I have the same problem using style (trying to apply background color to some particular cell ...)
I'm using seam 2.1.2.GA ...Or is there any code snippet to override the Cell rendering of JXL ?
Thanks

mfdonovan Sep 27, 2012 7:29 AM (in response to sgurevich)So I've been using this option for varied styles for one e:cell. In the case where we needed to have our negative numbers display differently. Seems like a hack, but it's working in seam 2.2.2.
Either inline or in a stylesheet, here's the convention.
xls-format-mask: '###,##0;[red](###,##0)';
