1. Re: Problem in starting/running Jboss as 7.1 (or 7) Final with Developer studio 5 M5
maxandersen Feb 20, 2012 12:09 PM (in response to samyomar82)Hi Samy,
Does the server actually start in the console ?
Can you try and open the server editor (double click the server) and see if there are any errors reported ?
Try enable "web poller" and restart to see if there might be some autodetection going wrong on your machine.

2. Re: Problem in starting/running Jboss as 7.1 (or 7) Final with Developer studio 5 M5
samyomar82 Feb 20, 2012 1:05 PM (in response to maxandersen)1- the jboss 7.1 Final started on the console.
2- also it worked fine with Eclipse 3.7 like this
But it failed to work with Jboss developer M5
IT keep try to starting (until time out) and when I try to stop it , it show error saying that jboss failed to stop
when I try for the next time to stop it, it stopped.
- when I doubled click the server I got this red error below, (But this worked fine with Eclipse with the same settings)

3. Re: Problem in starting/running Jboss as 7.1 (or 7) Final with Developer studio 5 M5
maxandersen Feb 21, 2012 6:52 AM (in response to samyomar82)Okey so yes this is caused by AS7.1 changed the value used for ports to include a system property which M5 does not understand/honor.
It should though fallback to the default so that is weird.
but lets fix your current issue.
Simply uncheck "automatically detect" in the management section and type in 9999 instead manually.
Now save and try again.

samyomar82 Feb 21, 2012 8:17 AM (in response to maxandersen)First thanks for your help,
I did but it did not work, it continued starting until throwing time out error.
I noted that it even did not write to the log console.

5. Re: Problem in starting/running Jboss as 7.1 (or 7) Final with Developer studio 5 M5
deedarb Mar 2, 2012 4:08 AM (in response to samyomar82)Hi! I have same problem. System props:
-Jboss developer studio 5 M5 (32 bit Mac)
-Jboss as 7.1 Final (Thunder)
-Mac OS Lion
Server starts normally when i start from console.
I also tried above solutions but they didn't worked for me.
Max can you describe how you "changed the value used for ports to include a system property which M5 does not understand/honor" ?
EDIT: After changing to web port worked fine! Thanks.
After some testing i found that server cannot start normally when:
1-started clean server (succesfully)
2-deployed application
3-stopped server
!!! 4-started again server and here problem rises (need to start server from console and undeploy and again start "clean" server from eclipse)

maxandersen Mar 2, 2012 8:31 AM (in response to deedarb)"EDIT: After changing to web port worked fine! Thanks." ?
you mean management port ?
or you changed to http port poller ?
And do you still have the problems outlined in steps 1,2,3,4 ?

7. Re: Problem in starting/running Jboss as 7.1 (or 7) Final with Developer studio 5 M5
deedarb Mar 3, 2012 5:49 AM (in response to maxandersen)I don't have problems now with these settings
So changing startup poller to "Web Port" solved problem.
May be JBoss 7 Manager Service not working properly? To work with JBoss 7 Manager Service from eclipse i needed to start server then deploy and before shutting down server undeploy so dev cycle looks like this:
start clean server
jboss-as:deploy
//work or test smth
jboss-as:undeploy
shutdown server
Anyway changing poller solved problem for JBDS M5. Thanks for help!

9. Re: Problem in starting/running Jboss as 7.1 (or 7) Final with Developer studio 5 M5
deedarb Oct 10, 2012 3:52 AM (in response to veerendra)Hi.
Are you using JBoss Developer Studio (JBDS)?
My solution worked for JBDS M5 but now there is already JBDS 5 Final and you can download it for free from official JBoss site.

deedarb Oct 10, 2012 6:22 AM (in response to veerendra)i don't know solution...why don't you install JBDS? It has jboss tools and other "JBoss" features (Openshift, Getting started for CDI and other useful things) check out https://devstudio.jboss.com/download/
