Is it possible to include a WHERE type clause in CLI ?

I would like to grab the name of one of the cache containers where it's list of aliases contains "x"; e.g. "ha-partition". I do not know what the name will be at runtime, and it could

be reconfigured later to avoid clashes with other JBoss AS instances running within development.

Is there CLI syntax to do this ?

You might use tab-completition to see all.

But there is no query language.

If it's not possible to do what you want with the if-else control flow you could useAdvanced CLI scripting with Groovy, Rhino, Jython, etc. or try the JBoss AS7 Command-line public API and do it in java.

If you are talking about doing this interactively then I think you'll have to go with Mr. Fink's suggestion.

Where would I be using tab completion ? Did you mean the CLI UI ?

If you start interactive mode with 'bin/jboss-cli.sh --connect'' you can use the TAB to complete key's, attributes, attribute-values, commands etc.

Looks like the only applicable options for me would be to use the APIs at runtime and try a two stage lookup, or have the value available elsewhere on the premise that the cache container is

not removed. It cannot be renamed in any case.
