1. Re: Examples/Snippets for Jboss transactions in stand alone mode.
mmusgrov Nov 6, 2012 5:05 AM (in response to abyv)Hi,
Integration of our transaction manager into other environments is normally done by the team responsible for the other environment so I would recommend that you ask your question on the infinispan forum.

abyv Nov 6, 2012 5:43 AM (in response to mmusgrov)Thanks for the immediate response Michael , I agree, question1 is very specific to infinispan but i am curious to know how Jboss transactions enlists different XA resources and how transactions are associated to threads?

abyv Nov 6, 2012 10:20 AM (in response to abyv)It would be greatful how if somebody could show light on how to enlist XA resources to transaction manager ( in stand alone mode) For eg
Say, I have to put data to two rdbms db instances A and B simultaneously and both post should be within the same transaction boundary.

tomjenkinson Nov 6, 2012 11:04 AM (in response to abyv)Hi Aby,
enlistResource is a method hanging off javax.transaction.Transaction iirc: http://docs.oracle.com/javaee/1.3/api/javax/transaction/Transaction.html#enlistResource%28javax.transaction.xa.XAResource%29

tomjenkinson Nov 6, 2012 11:05 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)I should note, you wil need to set up recovery for your resources as per our recovery manual, but the above should get you started with enlisting the resource at least

abyv Nov 7, 2012 12:47 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Thank you Tom, I understood how i enlist this XA Resource, but how will I associate this transaction to Transaction Manager?

8. Re: Examples/Snippets for Jboss transactions in stand alone mode.
abyv Nov 7, 2012 5:37 AM (in response to tomjenkinson)Exactly Tom, I am trying to develop a typical core java application and trying to use jboss ts for transaction management. I would like to know how i take care of distributed resources of rdbms and infinispan cache together.

9. Re: Examples/Snippets for Jboss transactions in stand alone mode.
mmusgrov Nov 7, 2012 6:01 AM (in response to abyv)To include RDBMs into your transaction we supply a transactional driver, http://docs.jboss.org/jbosstm/5.0.0.M1/guides/narayana-jta-development_guide/ch02.html, (but we will be migrating away from this and use JCA in some future release).
What kind of interface does infinispan provide for performing work within a transction.
