Ways to remotely start/stop JbossAS 7

I'm looking for a way to start/stop a JbossAS 7 instance remotely, on another machine. Besides using the Arquillian adapter, what other solutions could help me ?

Which OS?

There is always the problem that for a completely stopped instance, there has to be some mechanism running and listening in order to respond to startup commands.

I was hopping, maybe, it could be another way.

For a production environment you can use the domain mode and start/stop instances remote by using the management interface.

You only need to install and run the host-controller on each machine manually.
