I would assume the jdbc driver jar and definition should be done through the CLI to the domain first in order to have it distributed

We used to keep the ear file in deployments foder for standalone. But for domain mode where we need to place the ear file?

nickarls Dec 14, 2012 12:42 PM (in response to srinivas.bijjam)That is the way of standalone, I don't think distribution will happen for domains in the same way.

jaikiran Dec 14, 2012 9:26 PM (in response to srinivas.bijjam)In domain mode, filesystem based deployments are not supported. i.e. there is not "deployments" folder where you can place it. You'll have to use the CLI or the admin console to deploy it and they'll issue management operation commands to deploy it across the domain.

srinivas.bijjam Dec 14, 2012 10:32 PM (in response to jaikiran)Dear Nicklas and Jaikiran
Actually our process is little different. We will ship our application, database schema along with Application Server Content as one executable file. When the end user run this executable while, it will automatically create the schema and also JBOSS Application Server content. So when the user clicks on start button, application will start and the user can use this directly. We used to this successfully with JBOSS 5 successfully. We migrated from 5X to 7X. We planned to go with Standalone but Standalone is not supporting me to deploy ear with oracle-ds.xml. We are getting missing dependencies error. After going through forum , I found that domain mode is supporting oracle-ds.xml so we tought to shift to Domain Mode.
I am struck here.

That isn't a reason to choose domain mode. standalone should and does support datasource files. If you are running into some problem, then you'll have to explain what exactly it is with the relevant configurations, logs and stacktraces.

nickarls Dec 20, 2012 3:12 AM (in response to srinivas.bijjam)OK. So what happens when you put the oracle-ds.xml in the standalone deployment folder and start up normally?
