jamezp Jan 2, 2013 2:04 PM (in response to techsjs2012)Do you have a log4j configuration file in your deployment? Are you including a log4j library in your deployment?

3. Re: Log4J not working after moving to AS7 from tomcat?
jamezp Jan 2, 2013 2:08 PM (in response to techsjs2012)Unless you're using any custom appenders I would suggest just removing the configuration file from your deployment and using the logging subsystem for configuration. Also, there is no need to include a log4j library as it's an implicit dependency for all deployments.
If you need help converting your configuration to an XML configuration that would work for the logging subsystem, feel free to paste it here and I can help with that.

techsjs2012 Jan 2, 2013 2:44 PM (in response to jamezp)no we would like to make log files like <app_name>.log so we need to use the custom appenders

jamezp Jan 2, 2013 2:54 PM (in response to techsjs2012)IIRC all versions of EAP 6 will scan for logging configurations and configure your logging based on the configuration. Try removing the log4j library from your deployment and see if that works.
Though I just remembered there is a bug in log4j. See the documentation on how to exclude the systems log4j library.
