Log4J not working after moving to AS7 from tomcat?

I have a number of Spring Web Flow Projects that we are moving from Tomcat to JBoss EAP.. All of the projects use Log4J for logging..  After moving the projects to EAP We dont see any of the Log4J output in the files or the console.. Can someone please give us any information you have on this issue

Do you have a log4j configuration file in your deployment? Are you including a log4j library in your deployment?

Yes and Yes.. After doing them both I see the Log4J going to the console but it still will not make the log files?

Unless you're using any custom appenders I would suggest just removing the configuration file from your deployment and using the logging subsystem for configuration. Also, there is no need to include a log4j library as it's an implicit dependency for all deployments.

If you need help converting your configuration to an XML configuration that would work for the logging subsystem, feel free to paste it here and I can help with that.

no we would like to make log files like <app_name>.log so we need to use the custom appenders

IIRC all versions of EAP 6 will scan for logging configurations and configure your logging based on the configuration. Try removing the log4j library from your deployment and see if that works.

Though I just remembered there is a bug in log4j. See the documentation on how to exclude the systems log4j library.
