Oracle MySQL database as backend for RHQ server

    svvp

      Dear RHQ Team.

I know the list of already supported databases i.e. Oracle and PostgreSQL. And also you plan to support MS SQL DB in the future.

But please don't blame on me, beacause i need this information, and i guess you will point me out some existing topic like this one: https://community.jboss.org/message/158942#158942

      And here are my questions:

      1. Do you plan to support Oracle MySQL as backend for RHQ server, if so, it would be nice to know preliminary roadmap.

      2. If we will use MySQL DB on our own risk which potential showstoppers and maybe some blocking issues we can meet.

Thanks in advance for your help!

      Happy new year!

      Alex

          Hi Alexey,

          1. MySQL support is not planned so far.

          2. I'm afraid there is no trivial way to run RHQ on MySQL.

An example blocking issue you will meet: some parts of RHQ use native SQL queries. You'll have to provide native queries for MySQL.

I would recommend you run RHQ on PostgreSQL.

          My best wishes for 2013

          Thomas
