Alternatives enabled inside a jar in Weld2

I am trying to enable my project to work with Weld 2 and, still work with Weld 1. One thing that i noticed was the fact that Weld2 recognized the alternatives that was enabled inside a jar. When i tried to use the same approach with Weld 1, they weren't recognized. Is this a new feature?

No, there should not be any change. Can you provide more information on what you're observing? What application server are you running on?

I am using Jboss 7.1.1. I think i don't have any more informations... My jar has a beans.xml with <alternatives>...</alternatives> and, when i try to use the same with weld 1 the alternatives are not recognized.
