BAM capabilities in JBOSS SOA platform

    wajidmehraj

      Hi Everyone,

As i was evauluation JBOSS SOA platform for a customer who is primarily asking for reports and monitoring in the form of BAM, does JBoss provide a production ready BAM support across all components including Services, BPEL, BPM?

      Thanks,

      Wajid

          Hi Wajid

There are currently no BAM capabilities in the current 'production ready' SOA platform.

The work being done currently in Overlord on BAM is targetted for the next major release of the SOA platform (version 6), and is intended to capture activity information regarding service interactions, as well as additional information from the bpel and bpm components.

          Hope that helps.

          Regards

          Gary

            Hi All,

Can Overlord project be plugged in with JBoss SOA Platform 5.3?

            Thanks,

            Wajid

              Hi Wajid

In terms of the BAM component, in theory much of it would be suitable to run in SOA 5.3, as it uses standard JEE technologies, such as MDB and REST. The eventual aim is to support other target platforms.

However the current target platform is switchyard/as7 (from a community perspective), and SOA 6 (from a product perspective) - so this means distributions and installation, as well as any testing is focused on these environments.

If you were interested in trying it in SOA 5.3, then you would need to try this out yourself.

I think the same would apply for the SOA repository work - but I'll let those guys respond in terms of those components.

              Regards

              Gary
