1. Re: Enable deferred startup in JBoss 7
guinotphil Jan 24, 2013 6:14 AM (in response to pathduck)Hi,
I'm also looking for a solution for this situation.
I currently use JBoss AS 7.1.1.Final.
Did you find anything ?
Regards,
Philippe

pathduck Jan 24, 2013 8:45 AM (in response to guinotphil)Hi,
sorry I did not find anything, and not by looking in the schema definitions either...
It would be good if any of the JBoss veterans know anything about this?

nickarls Jan 24, 2013 8:58 AM (in response to pathduck)Hmm not sure. Wonder if it would be possible to write some sort of dummy subsystem that would have dependencies against the deployment and then make the web subsystem have dependencies against it?

nickarls Jan 24, 2013 9:07 AM (in response to nickarls)Or perhaps it would be possible to start the web subsystem disabled and then have the deployment enable it when it is done?

Yeah, I thought about starting with the web connectors disabled, and enable it only when the application was deployed thanks to a listener. But actually, even from the console, enabling a connector needs a full restart of the server.

nickarls Jan 25, 2013 7:19 AM (in response to guinotphil)And there is no connector/connection pool in the web subsystem that you can strangle down to 0 handlers and then raise back up when deployment is done?

7. Re: Enable deferred startup in JBoss 7
guinotphil Jan 28, 2013 1:10 PM (in response to nickarls)That could be an idea.
But I don't know how I can retreive the pool from my listener.
Trying to get the MSCService of name : org.jboss.as.threads.ThreadsServices.threadFactoryName("http-executor") returns null for me
