The current release for JBPM is JBPM5.4
If you want to use jbpm5.3, you can follow this guide on how to install and start the demo:

If you want to use jbpm5.4, you can follow this guide on how to install and start the demo:
http://docs.jboss.org/jbpm/v5.4/userguide/ch.installer.html (last time I check, this guide still refers to the jbpm5.3, too bad..)
about the ant, I would suggest to use it if you want to start the demo since it will make things simpler for the first time
If you are just starting to try jbpm, I suggest you use the JBOSS AS 7 provided by the full installer instead of using your own jboss server to make things simpler. Once you feel ok with the demo, you can start customizing settings.

i followed all the steps, and the installation works i have some problem with the server it didn't build successfully ( i will put it in the forum) my question concern the version eclipse isn't a old version which it use by JBPM 5.3? i thought we will use java EE for developers(juno packages)
