Is there a way to force HornetQ to free up disk storage?

      Hi,

we have the situation that a HornetQ was misused, creating a large amount of messages in a queue that are never consumed. This leads to a lot of disk storage being blocked by the journal files (and a lot of consumed memory and time when starting up).

Now, we want to clean up this mess by deleting the messages from the queue.

Before launching a test scenario I would like to ask the following question for which I could not find an answer so far:

Does HornetQ remove journal files that are no longer needed after a lot of messages have been deleted from a queue?

Thanks for any hints in this direction.

      Regards,

      Tom
