1. Re: jgroups VIEW_SYNC and GMS
rhusar Jan 28, 2013 7:24 AM (in response to freeliuade)Not exactly right. To correct this:
JBoss AS 7 is using 3.x generation of JGroups (i.e. AS 7.2 is going to use JG version 3.2.6.Final or later).
Moreover AS 7 does not use VIEW_SYNC, check the stack configuration: https://github.com/jbossas/jboss-as/blob/master/clustering/jgroups/src/main/resources/jgroups-defaults.xml
The documentation (community.jboss.org) is correct. Don't use VIEW_SYNC in newer versions, stick with GMS.

freeliuade Jan 28, 2013 9:37 PM (in response to rhusar)Hi,
appriciate for your comments.
... now my product already used both (VIEW_SYNC + GMS) and the product has been released out.
Is there any side effect if used both?

My rough guess is that is not a problem. All this does, is exchange membership information every 60 seconds (or whatever you have configured) which generally just adds a little overhead but should not cause any issues. If it works and passed testing, I wouldn't worry about it.
