Richfaces no tag defined for name: toolBar failure in jboss-as-richfaces-validation quickstart

Hi,

when adding <rich:toolBar></rich:toolBar> tag to the index.xhtml page of the jboss-as-richfaces-validation JBOSS AS 7 quickstart project I face the following exception:

/index.xhtml @12,16 <rich:toolBar> Tag Library supports namespace: http://richfaces.org/rich, but no tag was defined for name: toolBar

Any clue on what configuration or maybe maven dependency could be missing ?

• I use jboss-as-richfaces-validation project of the JBOSS AS 7 quickstart-7.1.1.Final.
• I  have the original jboss-as-richfaces-validation project working fine.
• Of course I first searched for this issue on the web and the JBOSS Richfaces discussions but without finding any helpful solutions.

Any information, pointer to discussions or helpful doc. highly appreciated !

it is because the right name of the component is rich:toolbar.

It was as simple as that Thank you!

That said, it seems to have been spelt the other way in previous richfaces versions. I got confused while using the following live demo:

http://livedemo.exadel.com/richfaces-demo/richfaces/toolBar.jsf

This live demo still makes use of the other camel case toolbar. Moreover my IDE (JBDS 5.0.1) autocompletes with the old case.

I just tested right now with JBDS 6.0.0 and it does the correct new richfaces autocompletion job.

The demo you are referencing is for RichFaces 3.

The link I provided is showcase of components for RichFaces 4.

Hope it is clear now. Not sure how the autocompletition works, let me know if you need to to use older JBDS, however, I recommend you to use the new one.

RichFaces 3: toolBar, RichFaces 4: toolbar

Regarding the JBDS autocompletion, I guess it just behaves according to the version of Richfaces it supports which according to what I experienced is Richfaces 3 for JBDS 5 (5.0.1) and RichFaces 4 for JBDS 6 (6.0.0). I just happen to use Richfaces 4 while coding with JBDS 5, now I moved to JBDS 6.
