jboss 3.0 ignoring supplied jbosscmp-jdbc.xml

I have been having issues with JBoss 3.0 ignoring the jbosscmp-jdbc.xml file that I provide within my jar file. No errors show up in the server.log file... it just completely skips over it. I have checked and rechecked my xml file and nothing jumps out at me as being wrong. I tried to validate the xml to see if it was well formed at http://www.stg.brown.edu/service/xmlvalid/, but the validator that was there said the jbosscmp-jdbc.dtd that came with JBoss was invalid.

What tools are generally used to debug xml files such as jbosscmp-jdbc.xml? I have attached my xml file, but I'm not necessarily asking anyone to find my mistakes. Just point me to a resource that will enable me to help myself.

You need to add the EJB 2.0 doctype declaration to the ejb-jar.xml file. This declaration is used to identify the version of the ejb-jar.

BTW, the EJB 2.0 specification section 22.5 has the following text:

All valid ejb-jar deployment descriptors must contain the following DOCTYPE declaration:

<!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC
"-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN"
"http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">

Thank you. It is picking the jbosscmp-jdbc up now and I'm discovering what else I have wrong.

I never would have thought to look in the ejb-jar since it was being parsed without error.
