hot deploy not working

Hi,

Using JBoss 3.0 on Solaris8, and hot deploying an ear file which contains an ejb jar file and also war file.

When I hot deploy I find that the jndi lookup of my beans fails on the call PortableRemoteObject.narrow
(the object is looked up okay before that).

If I stop and re-start the server then it works ok.

Any idea what the problem could be here?

Hi,

I forgot to add that it is hot re-deploy that fails
(if I hot deploy when there is nothing deployed then it works).

It sounds either like a bug (maybe to do with: http://www.jboss.org/modules/bb/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=forums/ or I have accidentally changed/deleted a setting somewhere?

Could the following be relevant? (or is it normal?)

seems like a bug (for anyone else searching the archives with the same problem) - so I am not going mad after all.

The problem could be Catalina and caching?

I am having the exact same problem. It works only when the web service .ear (a wrapped session bean) is deployed the first time. It will throw the same exception when I do bean look up after a hot deploy.

I am using jboss 3.0.5.
