1. Re: Thread Dumps for JBoss AS 7 as Windows Service
jaikiran Feb 14, 2013 7:06 AM (in response to steljboss)FWIW, for that exception stacktrace, I don't think thread dumps are going to help. What you have to check is the parameters that are being passed to the Windows service for starting the AS instance and compare it with the standalone instance which doesn't start as a service.

steljboss Feb 14, 2013 8:20 AM (in response to jaikiran)Hi Jaikiran,
I will try your suggestion and let you know.
The exception above is not what I am trying to debug it is one I get when I try to setup my server to be available over JMX so that I can connect with visualvm to it.

No it's not available in AS7.

You are right, it's mentioned as one of the options. I think the wiki needs a update to make a mention that JMX console method isn't applicable for AS7.

steljboss Feb 20, 2013 4:53 AM (in response to jaikiran)Just to confirm. there is no known way to take a ThreadDump for the AS 7 when it is running as a service?
I have tried the SendSignal utility but that also failed with privilege errors

I had tried that way but it was not possible. I am experimenting with this tool now to get monitoring http://www.appdynamics.com/
