"Create Required transformers" is disabled, while promoting component service

Many a times I have noticed that while promoting a service, through WSDL, the "Create Required transformers" is disabled.

When this happens, I have no other go, but to drop the project and create a new one.

This happens sometimes for a new project also. But if I re-try after restarting jBoss Dev Studio, then it works file.

But happens very regularly in an existing project, especially if you try to delete the "promoted service" and try to add it back on.

Any solution for this?

The option is only enabled if no transformers exist.  In the case where you've already promoted a service and created the transformers, deleting the promoted service will not delete the transformations, so the next time you go to promote, you will not see the option.

To edit (add/remove) transformers from the application, open the properties view then select the figure representing the composite (the big, lighter blue box).  Select "Transformers" and you should see a list of all transformers described in the application.

I have a similar problem, but rather than the "Create Required Transformers" beign diabled, the selection doesn't appear at all. Could I be missing a required part of the tool set? I just set everything up last week and have the latest version of everything.

Hi Rob,

here's the screenshot.  I am currently following the online quickstart, but noticed that the step to promote the service is a bit different in my environment than in the quickstart instructions. To get the same results ( without the transformers though) I have to generate the WSDL first, then promote the component service.

I just did a check for updates through the install software function (I'm usign Eclipse Juno) but it said there were no updates available.

I'm guessing you don't have the latest tools.  0.8.0.Final is the latest stable version and can be found here:  http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/stable/juno/soa-tooling/switchyard/0.8.0.Final/

The latest development version is 1.0.0 and can be found here: http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/integration/juno/soa-tooling/switchyard/

1. Remove the Promoted Composite.

2. In JBDS/Eclipse choose Project -> Clean

3. Re Promote the service.
