1. Re: What is the best way to transfer files between servers?
nickarls May 17, 2013 5:14 AM (in response to rart3001_1)Is JMS too heavy for this? Outside the AS rsync or similar might be an option, never played around with it large-scale.

rart3001_1 May 17, 2013 2:17 PM (in response to nickarls)I've never really worked with JMS, if you can not send files with this. I need to compress the files, set the size of the packet sent, and to resume the transfer if the connection is dropped. On the other hand rsync if you can not integrate with java and if I can call it a quart or something like that to run at the right time. You believe the Jboss Netty framework is not the way to solve my requirements?

wdfink May 17, 2013 2:40 PM (in response to rart3001_1)If you want to control the network package size this is not possible in an AS.
You might send parts of a file via a JMS ObjectMessage and put it together on target side. JMS ensure that there is no loss of messages.

rart3001_1 May 20, 2013 10:58 AM (in response to rart3001_1)You recommend jms me, but I read a bit and according to reviews is difficult jms send large files as it needs to load initially in memory to be sent.

jbertram May 20, 2013 11:00 AM (in response to rart3001_1)HornetQ (the JMS implementation in AS7/WildFly) has support for "large" messages which do not need to be fully loaded into memory either on the client or the server. They can be streamed from/to disk. See http://docs.jboss.org/hornetq/2.3.0.Final/docs/user-manual/html/large-messages.html.

rart3001_1 May 20, 2013 11:25 AM (in response to rart3001_1)ok since JMS is recommended for all of you, I'll do some testing with JMS, and I never actually worked with this. A question HornetQ is integrated with AS 7? or I have to do some kind of integration, if I may give some clues as to where I should start or some tutorials or examples, they are greatly appreciate.

7. Re: What is the best way to transfer files between servers?
jbertram May 20, 2013 11:30 AM (in response to rart3001_1)HornetQ is already integrated into AS7. You just need to use a profile that has it (e.g. standalone-full.xml).
I recommend you download HornetQ and take a look at the documentation and examples.
