Can Envers support "going back to a revision" similar to subversion?

Hi,

I am absolute new to Envers.

My usecase is:

I would like to provide "versioning" with my application. Logically when a user creates a "version" all data is duplicated and the user can actually

log into this version and "print reports" as they were when the version was taken.

Now of course this version produces a lot of data...

So  could I use Envers to  produce a past snapshot of my application so that I would achive the same result?

Has anybody done something like this before?

It would be time-consuming to generate such a snapshot, but possible - don't know if anybody did that, though.
