1. Re: MappedSuperclass and inheritance in JPA
gastaldi Jun 5, 2013 10:39 AM (in response to agoncal)Hi Antonio,
Glad you're enjoying Forge.
These suggestions are really nice. Would you mind creating a JIRA[1] for each proposed feature ?
Thank you very much !

gastaldi Jun 5, 2013 10:41 AM (in response to agoncal)Btw, there is already an issue requesting the MappedSuperClass feature: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/FORGE-133

lincolnthree Jun 5, 2013 2:47 PM (in response to agoncal)Heyy! Antonio! Great to see you!
What got you looking at Forge again? What are you doing with it?
I really like all of your ideas, and we will try to take them into account now that we have a chance to do some renaming on Forge 2. We are currently taking the following approach (single-level command keywords only).
jpa-setup
jpa-new-entity
jpa-new-field
So it would follow that mapped superclass would be something like this (or similar, depending on what this command actually does.) As george suggested, could you fill out a few JIRA issues to expand on these ideas? I like where you are headed with this
jpa-mapped-superclass
I hope to see you again soon!
Thanks!

4. Re: MappedSuperclass and inheritance in JPA
agoncal Jun 6, 2013 6:41 AM (in response to lincolnthree)Ok, here is a JIRA that will hopefully keep all the good ideas for naming conventions : https://issues.jboss.org/browse/FORGE-944
@lincoln I have this crazy idea of re-writing the Spring PetClinic in Java EE 7.... and thought of using Forge to kick it off (https://github.com/agoncal/agoncal-application-petclinic/blob/master/generate.fsh)
I'll be in JavaOne, hopefully I'll see you there ;o)

5. Re: MappedSuperclass and inheritance in JPA
lincolnthree Jun 6, 2013 2:03 PM (in response to agoncal)Not sure, none of my talks were accepted, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!
And that's a really nice idea! It would be awesome if it could be done entirely from forge. You'll have to let me know what is missing to make that happen! We can probably add features you need (but the renaming will have to wait for forge 2)
Cheers!

6. Re: MappedSuperclass and inheritance in JPA
agoncal Jun 7, 2013 3:51 AM (in response to lincolnthree)What I'm missing now is the possibility to create a MappedSuperclass and extend it. Something like that would do (not considering any naming) :
new-mapped-superclass --named Person
new-entity --named Vet --extends Person
