1. Re: BigDeciaml in Jboss3.0.3
aloubyansky Oct 16, 2002 2:47 AM (in response to alexb)probably, you need to update the JBoss. It works for me in JBoss-3.0.4RC1. BigDecimals are supported as cmp fields. And you can use them in queries but only in JBossQL as EJBQL doesn't support them.

3. Re: BigDeciaml in Jboss3.0.3
aloubyansky Oct 16, 2002 12:28 PM (in response to alexb)I am afraid, there is no link to download binaries. But you always can use cvs to fetch the source for any branch and compile it.
PS: RC -> Release Candidate -

I'm trying to get the Jboss 3.0.4 version your talking about...
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.jboss.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jboss login
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.jboss.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/jboss co jboss -r JBoss_3_0_4 jboss-all
and I get an error say that cvs doesn't know anything about the tag JBoss3_0_4

7. Re: BigDeciaml in Jboss3.0.3
scoy Oct 17, 2002 1:53 AM (in response to alexb)Hi,
I don't think un update will help you here. For some reason the JBoss MS SQL data mappings map java.math.BigDecimal to a VARCHAR data type.
I would have thought that something like:
<java-type>java.math.BigDecimal</java-type>
<jdbc-type>DECIMAL</jdbc-type>
<sql-type>DECIMAL(38,15)</sql-type>
would be more appropriate, but I don't have much experience using this database.
I suspect the driver is barfing on the translation in one direction or the other.

8. Re: BigDeciaml in Jboss3.0.3
scoy Oct 17, 2002 2:03 AM (in response to alexb)In fact, after having another look at the stack trace, I am inclined to think that your JDBC driver does not support java.sql.ResultSet.getBigDecimal.
It's throwing an AbstractMethod error, suggesting that it's not implemented.
