I'm using Seam2.3.Final, Jboss7.1.1Final.

I've created  a Jboss Datasource named PostgresDS.

my persistence.xml

normally, I guess as I  remember in Seam 2.2 this should work but I get this exception :

Omid,

your components.xml is wrong with jndi-pattern attribute value. You need to have there JNDI to your bound EJBs and not your Entity Manager Factory.

Something like

1. <core:init jndi-pattern="java:app/${project.name}.jar/#{ejbName}" debug="true" distributable="false"/>

Replace ${project.name} with your deployed application EJB name or just look at server.log where are all bound EJB JNDIs.

this configuration no longer works on jboss as 7 please look at the one on the seam examples for correct configuration . as far as I recall it was related to ejbtimer service that needs to be defined manually in components.xml

Omid's Re: object is not an instance of declaring class response is almost right, even it depends on your build system. Those @something@ is a token filtered by build system or by Seam if you have components.properties file in your application. Look for instance here https://github.com/seam2/jboss-seam/blob/Seam_2_2/examples/jpa/resources-jboss/WEB-INF/components.xml#L21

If you use Maven as Seam 2.3 is, then get your inspiration from jboss-seam/pom.xml at Seam_2_3 · seam2/jboss-seam · GitHub and https://github.com/seam2/jboss-seam/blob/Seam_2_3/examples/booking/booking-web/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/components.xml#L13

Or you can replace tokens with real value like we have in Contact list Example at jboss-seam/components.xml at f3077fee9d04b2b3545628cd9e6b58c859feb988 · seam2/jboss-seam · GitHub

And it is also true that on JBoss AS 7 and newer versions (like Wildfly) is required to have additional 2 lines there to be compatible with new JNDI Rule Syntax like here jboss-seam/components.xml at Seam_2_3 · seam2/jboss-seam · GitHub
