Manage properties file with RHQ4.7.0

Dear RHQ Team,

We deploy our applications on JBossAS5 server and use RHQ4.7.0 to monitor and manage JBossAS5 servers.

We would like to manage application configuration file (*.properties) with RHQ4.7.0. We planned to customize JBossAS5 plugin by implementing the ConfigurationFacet in ApplicationServerComponent and add resource-configuration in rhq-plugin.xml. However, this way doesn't wok. Because content of application configuration file is different, we cannot pre-define the properties in resource-configuration in rhq-plugin.xml.

We don't know how to implement the function now. Could you give any suggestion? Many thanks.

One way, albeit a bit less elegant than a predefined set of properties, would be to define the properties as a table with "name" and "value" columns:

    <c:map name="property">
        <c:simple name="name" />
        <c:simple name="value" />
    </c:map>
 </c:list>
