kcbabo Aug 21, 2013 10:37 AM (in response to godwinthaya)SwitchYard 1.0.0.Final runs on EAP 6.1. You can find installation instructions here:
https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/SWITCHYARD10/Installation+Guide
If you must use JBoss AS 7.1.1, then go with SwitchYard 0.8. Installation instructions found here:
https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/SWITCHYARD08/Installation+Guide

synclpz Aug 26, 2013 11:22 AM (in response to godwinthaya)They said no.
If you want to use SY1.0 you are required to use EAP6.1. EAP6.1.Alpha is free, EAP6.1.Final is commercial.
If you want to port SY1.0 to Jboss 7.1.1 you are to do some crazy stuff like updating most of jboss modules to proper versions, building from source That way it would be legal.

godwinthaya Aug 27, 2013 2:47 AM (in response to godwinthaya)Well. I am not going to cross pollinate here. The question here following URL says "http://www.jboss.org/switchyard/downloads" "switchyard-1.0.0.Final-EAP6.1.GA.zip" It appears that EAP6.1 GA - Generally Available is EAP 6.1's Final version not Alpha Release. Can we have EAP 6.1 Alpha a.k.a jBoss 7.1.2 final - unofficial community version and then "switchyard-installer-1.0.0.Final.zip" on top of it. Is this combination tested by this switchyard community.. Basically we are evaluating Switchyard in PROD - but very light weight data transfer - . so, will switch to RedHat Production Subscription based on further critical integrations.. By the way any of the Switchyard's above given download URL says only "Community version".. Why?

6. Re: SwitchYard Installation in jBoss 7.1
synclpz Aug 27, 2013 6:27 AM (in response to godwinthaya)SwitchYard is community project yet, only. No commercial subscription available, so you use it on your own risk.
For us there was much to do with integrations and custom use "patterns" before we accepted SY as production environment, but the dev team of SY works hard to implement many features and correct bugs very quickly. As I see, SY is going to be a successor of JBoss ESB in future.
It works ok on EAP Alpha even under high load.
So, you have an options:
1. Use SY on EAP-Alpha free
2. Buy subscription for EAP-Final and use SY on top of it for free, but without commersial support/SLA

The installer can be used to install into EAP 6.1 Alpha or GA. The zip bundle for Alpha is indeed missing from the downloads page, which is just an oversight on my part. I will take care of that today, but keep in mind the installer on the downloads page can be used for Alpha or GA.
If your goal is to run this in production, I would recommend getting in the product evaluation pipeline for SOA Platform 6 Beta, which includes SwitchYard. AFAIK, the Beta will be available to everyone.
To reiterate what I have mentioned in other threads on this subject, the move to EAP 6.1 was necessary to get an updated version of JBoss AS (7.2). Right after we release SY 1.1, we will begin to focus on producing a version of SwitchYard on top of Wildfly, which will give you an up-to-date community version of the application server to use with SwitchYard.
