1. Re: JBoss OSGi / Wildfly 8.0 Alpha 4 : What is the Level of OSGi /Java EE integration
ctomc Aug 30, 2013 4:59 PM (in response to davenoel)Hi,
osgi integration was moved to separate project where you can download bundle that will install support for osgi to WildFly
see http://jbossosgi.blogspot.com/2013/07/jbossosgi-210-released.html for more details.

2. Re: JBoss OSGi / Wildfly 8.0 Alpha 4 : What is the Level of OSGi /Java EE integration
dlmiles Aug 30, 2013 7:48 PM (in response to ctomc)Will the productization process be checked for OSGi breakage ? If I understand correctly the process of going from EAP.6.1.Beta1 to EAP.6.1.GA rewrote version numbers of MANIFEST.MF in an OSGi non-compliant way in JAR that look to be OSGi ready/capable.
See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=907713
Is there an open bug report to address the productization release engineering to ensure that every release of Wildfly and JBoss AS (EAP) will be compatible with the (now external addon) that is JBoss OSGi ?
In short: JBoss OSGi integration is now an external satellite addon for Wildfly (and presumably future EAP versions).

davenoel Aug 30, 2013 10:53 PM (in response to ctomc)I understand that the OSGi functionality was moved out to a different project that needs to be "patched" into wildfly. What I don't understand is what kind of java EE code can exist in the bundles.

thomas.diesler Sep 2, 2013 3:15 AM (in response to dlmiles)Darryl,
JBOSGi is an optional extension to the WildFly community project only - it is not part of EAP.

6. Re: JBoss OSGi / Wildfly 8.0 Alpha 4 : What is the Level of OSGi /Java EE integration
dlmiles Sep 2, 2013 2:40 PM (in response to thomas.diesler)Understand this now going forwards. But at the time of EAP.6.1.Beta1 and EAP.6.1.GA release dates this claim (that OSGi is not part of EAP) was not the case.
So you must understand the public's continued confusion when the JBoss party line has changed, yes we understand going forwards (in newer releases of EAP greater or equal to 6.2) this is true but find it hard to accept relating to EAP 6.1. In effect JBoss has reneged on this after releases and publicity to the contrary had already been made.
