15. Re: Memory leak with Arquillian and EAP6.1.0.Final
grossetieg Sep 5, 2013 4:40 AM (in response to ctomc)Hi Tomaz,
Thanks for your detailed reply. We are using the latest version available : EAP 6.1.0.Final (http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/downloads/)
This memory leak is really impacting us. If we were using community version, I could have manually fixed the code with your branch. Is there any way I can do the same with an EAP version and still have support ?
Thanks for your help,
Guillaume.

ctomc Sep 5, 2013 5:37 AM (in response to grossetieg)If you have support than it is simple
ask for fix on support portal, that is how that one-off patches are produced, based on customer demand / issues.

ctomc Sep 30, 2013 8:06 AM (in response to ctomc)Just to update status of this a bit.
As part of investigation we found and fix also few problems in hibernate which looked like the biggest offender in this case.
This fixes ware released as part of 4.3.0.Beta4 release which is now already include in WildFly upstream and will be part of WildFly 8 Beta.
and they ware also back-ported to 4.2.6.Final which was released last week, see http://in.relation.to/Bloggers/HibernateORM426FinalReleased
4.2.x are versions used by EAP, and as such 4.2.6 will be part of next EAP release.
If you want to test this fix right away on your 6.1 instance you can manually replace hibernate with new version which should fix the memory leak for your use case.
Just bit of note, this is not supported way of doing it

grossetieg Oct 5, 2013 5:55 AM (in response to ctomc)Hi Tomaz,
Thanks for the detailed explanation, I will try this out on our test server.
We will receive our EAP licence in a week or so... What is the supported way to use the current EAP release with Hibernate 4.2.6.Final ? Can I also ask a "one-off patch" on the support forum just to replace a jar ?
Cheers,
Guillaume.

ctomc Oct 6, 2013 5:32 PM (in response to grossetieg)Hey,
supported way for this is to ask support for it. They will probably provide one-off patch.
you can also reference this Bugzilla https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1003600
official fix is now targeted to be part of 6.2.
