(It's already more than a week that we released the much awaited WildFly 8.0.0.Beta1 and formal announcements were made in the relevant places like dev-list and the short and sweet tweets but it took me a while to get to announcing this in the forums. Sorry about that).

WildFly 8.0.0.Beta1 has been released (on October 4th) and available for downloads from the project download page http://wildfly.org/download/.  This release took a lot of last minute polishing and it took a bit longer than expected but I think it's worth it. This is the first Beta release for the WildFly 8 series and we wanted to make sure we fixed a majority of the issues and also complete all the major features that were expected of WildFly 8. As Jason states in his release announcement [wildfly-dev] 8.0.0.Beta1 released, all the major features for WildFly have been implemented and are available in this Beta release. This also means that all the Java EE7 features are available in this release.

Apart from Java EE7 features, this release includes WildFly specific Role Based Access Control (RBAC) for management operations. This feature was requested by many AS7/EAP6 users.

On a related note, Jason and Stuart recently presented a webinar titled "Introduction to Wildfly: The new Java EE 7 JBoss Community project". This webinar has been recorded and available for playback or even MP4 download from the following links:

It's highly recommended that you take a look at that webinar to understand what WildFly 8 brings in.

Like always, please try this new release http://wildfly.org/download/ and let us know how it goes. Any suggestions/feedback/questions are welcome in this forum.
