rich:extendedDataTable does not adjust row hight according to the content

Hi,

I am using rich:extendedDataTable and 1 of the column has a tree build in it. When I try to expand the tree I cannot see anything as the row height does not adjust and contect is hidden.

Now after I expand the tree in Lease no. coluimn. Here is how it appears.

See how content is hidden as the column widht has not changed. What can I do to make the extendedtable row height dynamic. Please note if i use datatable, it automatically adjusts the row height to fit the content.

You can try invoking the updateLayout javascript method or the EDT:

Hi Bryan,

The only reason i am using is extendeddatatable is beacuse I want to impelment sorting along with sorting icons. Can I achieve sorting with dataTable rather then using extendeddatatable ?

The rich:dataTable supports custom sorting and filtering (built-in sorting and filtering is currently only available in the EDT).

Thanks for the quick reply. If I use dataTable, can I use custom icons to show whether data is sorting ascending or descending for a column?

Issue Resolved!!! i cannot believe something so small can cause so many issues. basically I observed that even the smallest JS calls like oncomplete="alert(''hi)" were not working on my page. Also sorting, pagination was causing JS to not bee invoked, the behavior was little odd. a4j:status was working only once before you sort or paginate. Tooltip was not working inside datatable after sorting or paginating.

All these issues are resolved after I replaced <h:commandbutton> with <a4j:commandbutton> throughout the page. it is strange but works for me .
