maxandersen Nov 4, 2013 2:18 PM (in response to rufens)Correct, there was too many issues with it and noone willing to support/develop it.
Was thus removed 2+ years ago: [JBDS-1823] Remove Smooks Editor from JBDS - JBoss Issue Tracker

3. Re: Smooks plugin no longer in JBossTools (Eclipse Kepler)
maxandersen Nov 5, 2013 6:04 AM (in response to rufens)The smooks plugin binaries from 2 year ago you can install - but no promises it still works on latest eclipse versions.
If you are interested I can point you to the codebase and you can rebuild it / update it if you want to.

angelo.rlcosta Dec 15, 2014 9:20 AM (in response to rufens)Hello everyone,
So if Smooks Editor no longer exists in jboss tools what other alternatives are out there in which we can do xml-to-xml transformations?
I'm currintly using jboss fuse service works to implement some services and got stuck in the above point.
Many thanks,

chessray Oct 21, 2015 9:17 AM (in response to rufens)Sorry for reviving an age-old thread, but I'm just wondering if anything has happened in this matter? Smooks is a candidate for an upcoming project, and this kind of editor could make all the difference.

7. Re: Smooks plugin no longer in JBossTools (Eclipse Kepler)
nickboldt Oct 21, 2015 10:43 AM (in response to chessray)Support for Smooks was removed from JBoss Tools 3.3 (4+ years ago), and we've now released 4.3.0 (Oct 6, 2015). So, it seems unlikely that after so many years support would return.
Sources are here if you want to build it yourself.

maxandersen Oct 22, 2015 4:27 AM (in response to chessray)Smooks is not maintained and removed a long time ago as Nick points out but the integration stack have started including Data transformation tools using Fuse with Dozer. See blog about it at JBoss Tools - You want to transform data with Fuse ? - Part 1

9. Re: Smooks plugin no longer in JBossTools (Eclipse Kepler)
rob.stryker Jun 2, 2018 1:27 AM (in response to maxandersen)In case anyone cares, I realized the old smooks code was probably hard to find / build / etc.
I copied the codebase into a simple github repo, changed the poms, and have it build against photon now.
See my comment at the following link:
Smooks Editor Not available with JBOSS Tools
This will not be supported. I was just trying to do something nice since I noticed a few people looking for this. I haven't tested the tools. I don't know to what extent they work. All I did was copy the code nad get it to build.
Good Luck.
